Our Innovation Creating Value for Producers

The foundation of the Cattle Improvement Co-operative, currently known as CRV, traces back to the year 1874. On December 5, 1874, the Dutch Cattle Herdbook (N.R.S) was founded in Amsterdam marking the beginning of the Cattle Improvement Co-operative in the Netherlands. A few years later, livestock farmers in Flanders took the initiative to jointly register cattle.

After the establishment of the Herdbook for registration, the introduction of conformation assessment, milk control, breeding value estimation and Bull Advice Program followed.

More recently the development of genomic testing and the FeedExcel breeding strategy for increasing feed efficiency have followed.
